Otso Ovaskainen, Jenni Hottola and Juha Siitonen. Modeling species co-occurrence by multivariate logistic regression generates new hypotheses on fungal interactions. Ecology.

Appendix C. Table showing the species responses to environmental covariates.

TABLE C1. Responses of the species to log characteristics based on the model M2(R). The columns Decay class and Ground contact show the median estimate, with the number of sites as a superscript. Decay class was measured in the scale 1a, 1b, 2, 3, 4, 5a, 5b (from freshly decayed to almost completely decayed), and ground contact as 1 = no ground contact, 2 = less than half of the log in ground contact, 3 = more than half of the log in ground contact. For Diameter, Epiphyte cover and Bark cover, the columns + (-) show the number of sites in which the probability of species occurrence increases (decreases) with increasing diameter, increasing epiphyte cover, and increasing bark cover, respectively. The number of sites in which the posterior probability for either a positive or negative response was less than 90% is given in the column 0. For Fall type, column U shows the number of sites where species are more likely to occur on uprooted than broken logs, and column B indicates the opposite case.
