In the ambient open top chambers (OTCs), the larvae primarily feed on the anemone but rarely on the gentian (A), whereas in the warmed OTCs the larvae seriously prey on the flowers and ovules of the gentian species (B). The arrow size is proportional to the interaction strength between species. The cube with dashed lines in a rectangle denotes the unwarmed chamber whose sides were made of thin steel screen, and the cube with a shaded rectangle denotes the warmed chamber whose sides were made of poly-carbonate sheet.
